quad privacy

quad is a student-made app for University of Alabama students. It is not an official University of Alabama app. This page explains, in plain words, what quad keeps and who can see it.
What quad stores
- Your Crimson email and a display name. Your email is how you sign in. Your name is what friends see; you can change it.
- Your class schedule, if you import or enter it: course codes, class names, days, times, buildings and rooms, and instructor names.
- Your friends list and friend requests.
- Things you post: lost & found posts, Tonight cover reports and events, professor recommendations, and your study-room notes.
- Feedback you send, with the screen you were on and your phone or browser type, so bugs can be fixed.
quad does not ask for or store passwords, your student ID number, grades, or payment information. There are no ads, and quad does not sell or share your information with anyone.
Who can see what
- Your schedule: only people you've accepted as friends. You choose whether they see your full classes or only when you're busy or free. Instructor names are never shown to friends.
- Your posts and recommendations: other signed-in UA students, with your display name.
- Your email: your friends, and anyone you send a friend request to.
- The founder (as admin) can remove posts or recommendations that break the rules and can read feedback.
Where it's kept
quad's data is stored with Supabase (a database company) and the app is hosted by Vercel. Sign-in codes are sent by email. Some of quad's data also stays on your own device so the app works offline.
Deleting your account
In quad, tap your initial at the top, then Delete my account. That permanently removes your account, schedule, friends, posts, reports and recommendations. Feedback you sent is kept without your name attached. You can also email us and we'll delete it for you.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. Questions or requests: quad.ua.app@gmail.com.
